Boil Water Notice Rescinded

November 7, 2022

On November 2nd 2022, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Mountain Water Supply Corp, PWS ID 0500020, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of November 7, 2022.

                 Public Notice to Boil Water

Wednesday, November 2, 2022. DUE TO A BREAK IN A MAIN TRANSMISSION LINE, TEXAS COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY (TCEQ) REQUIRES MOUNTAIN WATER SUPPLY CORP. PWS ID 0500020 TO NOTIFY CUSTOMERS TO BOIL THEIR WATER PRIOR TO CONSUMPTION. THE AREAS AFFECTED WILL BE CUSTOMERS DIRECTLY ON HWY 84 EAST AND WEST AND ALL SUBDIVISIONS/ROADS OFF OF HWY 84 (INDIAN ACRES, RENFRO VALLEY, ROLLING HILLS, MOUNTAIN RD, FM 1829, GREENBRIAR AND BARTON LANE AREAS, PR 305, ETC.)

TO ENSURE DESTRUCTION OF ALL HARMFUL BACTERIA AND OTHER MICROBES, WATER FOR DRINKING, COOKING, AND MAKING ICE SHOULD BE BOILED AND COOLED PRIOR TO USE. THE WATER SHOULD BE BROUGHT TO A VIGOROUS, ROLLING BOIL AND THEN BOILED FOR TWO MINUTES. IN LIEU OF BOILING, YOU MAY PURCHASE BOTTLED WATER FROM SOME OTHER SUITABLE SOURCE.

WHEN IT IS NO LONGER NECESSARY TO BOIL THE WATER, THE WATER SYSTEM OFFICIALS WILL NOTIFY YOU THAT THE WATER IS SAFE FOR CONSUMPTION. BOIL ORDER WILL REMAIN UNTIL LEAK IS REPAIRED AND WATER SAMPLES COME BACK POSITIVE. INSTRUCTIONS TO DISCONTINUE BOILING WILL BE ISSUED IN THE SAME MANNER AS THIS NOTICE.

LINE BREAK ON HWY 84

Due to a line break on Hwy 84 there will be water outages for some customers on Hwy 84, and the subdivision/roads directly off of Hwy 84 (Such as Mountain Rd, Renfro Valley, Rolling Hills, FM 1829). A boil notice will be in effect until rescinded.
