Boil Water Notice Rescinded

January 19, 2022

On January 10th, 2022 , the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required the Mountain Water Supply Corp, PWS ID 0500020, to issue a Boil Water Notice to inform customers, individuals, or employees that due to conditions which occurred recently in the public water system, the water from this public water system was required to be boiled prior to use for drinking water or human consumption purposes.

The public water system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water distributed by this public water system used for drinking water or human consumption purposes and has provided TCEQ with laboratory test results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of January 19, 2022.

                      Public Notice to Boil Water

Tuesday, January 10, 2023. DUE TO A BREAK IN A MAIN TRANSMISSION LINE, TEXAS COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY (TCEQ) REQUIRES MOUNTAIN WATER SUPPLY CORP. PWS ID 0500020 TO NOTIFY CUSTOMERS TO BOIL THEIR WATER PRIOR TO CONSUMPTION. THE AREAS AFFECTED WILL BE CUSTOMERS  OFF OF HWY 84 WEST OF BARTON LANE, TO INCLUDE RENFRO VALLEY AND ROLLING HILLS SUBDIVISIONS.

TO ENSURE DESTRUCTION OF ALL HARMFUL BACTERIA AND OTHER MICROBES, WATER FOR DRINKING, COOKING, AND MAKING ICE SHOULD BE BOILED AND COOLED PRIOR TO USE. THE WATER SHOULD BE BROUGHT TO A VIGOROUS, ROLLING BOIL AND THEN BOILED FOR TWO MINUTES. IN LIEU OF BOILING, YOU MAY PURCHASE BOTTLED WATER FROM SOME OTHER SUITABLE SOURCE.

WHEN IT IS NO LONGER NECESSARY TO BOIL THE WATER, THE WATER SYSTEM OFFICIALS WILL NOTIFY YOU THAT THE WATER IS SAFE FOR CONSUMPTION. BOIL ORDER WILL REMAIN UNTIL LEAK IS REPAIRED AND WATER SAMPLES COME BACK POSITIVE. INSTRUCTIONS TO DISCONTINUE BOILING WILL BE ISSUED IN THE SAME MANNER AS THIS NOTICE.

MWSC IS MONITORING AND ADJUSTING PLANT # 3. Customers may experience pressure fluctuations, and air in the line may cause the water to appear cloudy. The cloudiness should settle quickly as air bubbles dissolve , but the water is safe to drink. Further updates will be posted to the website. Please contact the office with any questions.
